Licensing + Founder badge
Where to enter your licence key
In WordPress admin, go to ★ Asteris Cart → Licence. Paste the ASTW-... key from your purchase email and click Activate this site.
A licence key registers this exact site (the URL in Settings → General → WordPress Address) against your seat count. If your tier allows 3 sites, you can activate on up to 3 — and deactivate on one at any time to free a slot for another.
What gets unlocked
The licence server tells your plugin which tier you bought. Asteris Cart instantiates only the modules that tier allows:
| Tier | Sites | Modules |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | 17 core modules |
| Pro | 3 | All 22 modules (adds Multi-Step Checkout, Urgency Timer, Field Editor, Quote Mode, Order Bump) |
| Agency | 10 | All 22 modules + v1.4 adds A/B Testing, Analytics Dashboard, Cohort Reports |
Without a valid licence, only Safe Mode loads — the operational kill switch that returns your store to vanilla WooCommerce. Everything else is silently skipped at boot.
Founder cohort + badge
If you’re one of the first 120 customers, your account portal shows a Founder badge (★ #N of 120) and your tier’s launch price is locked for the life of the subscription while it stays active:
- $99/yr Starter (vs $149/yr regular)
- $199/yr Pro (vs $299/yr regular)
- $399/yr Agency (vs $549/yr regular)
The 120 cap is hard — when it’s gone, regular pricing applies to everyone after. The Founder badge in your wp-admin Licence page mirrors the one on your account portal.
When a subscription lapses
If your subscription is cancelled or fails to renew:
- Founder price is lost — you can re-subscribe later, but at whatever rate is current
- Within your renewal grace period, the plugin continues working (the server returns the same
valid:trueuntil grace ends) - Past grace, the plugin reverts to Safe Mode on next revalidation (daily cron, or sooner if you hit Re-check in the Licence page)
- Your data is untouched — checkout, orders, cart contents all remain as-is, just running on vanilla WooCommerce until you re-activate
Moving a site
From the wp-admin Licence page of the site you’re leaving, click Deactivate this site. Your seat is released immediately. Then activate the same key on the new site.
This is the only way to free a seat — uninstalling the plugin alone does NOT release the seat (so if you ever delete the plugin without deactivating first, contact support and we’ll release it manually).
Dev / staging sites
Hostnames ending in .local (Local by Flywheel, LocalWP) bypass the licence check entirely — no key needed, all modules load. This means your local dev environment never burns a seat from your 1/3/10 allowance.
For other dev environments (staging.yoursite.com, dev.yoursite.com), use a separate seat from your tier’s allowance. Pro and Agency tiers are sized to make this comfortable.
Lost your key
Check your purchase email first. If you can’t find it, sign in to your account portal at pay.asteriscommerce.com/account — your active licence keys are listed there with one-click reveal and copy.
