How to migrate from FunnelKit to Asteris Cart
Before you start
- Back up the database and files.
- Use staging if available, otherwise a low-traffic window.
- WooFunnels and FunnelKit are the same product now — this guide covers both.
- Keep FunnelKit installed until the switch is confirmed.
What does not have a v1.0 equivalent
- Email and SMS automation (FunnelKit Automations) — Asteris Cart does not do marketing automation. Keep FunnelKit, or move automation to a dedicated tool.
- Funnel pages — Asteris Cart does not build them.
- Order bumps / post-purchase upsells — Asteris Cart v1.2, not v1.0.
Migrate the checkout to Asteris Cart; keep a separate tool for automation if you need it.
Module-by-module mapping
| FunnelKit feature | In Asteris Cart |
|---|---|
| Optimised / multi-step checkout | Multi-Step Checkout (Pro) + Field Editor |
| Side cart / mini cart | Side Cart |
| Express payments | Express Checkout + per-zone kill switch |
| Trust elements | Trust Badges |
| GDPR / consent | GDPR Consent (Article 7, hashed IPs) |
| Email / SMS automation | no equivalent — keep FunnelKit or a dedicated tool |
| Funnel pages, order bumps | no v1.0 equivalent |
Step by step
- Back up the database and files.
- Audit FunnelKit. Separate checkout features (migrate these) from funnel and automation features (these stay).
- Install Asteris Cart and enable Safe Mode.
- Configure the replacing checkout modules.
- Disable Safe Mode and run a full test order on staging or in a low-traffic window. Confirm completion and pixel events.
- Deactivate FunnelKit only after confirming the checkout works. If you kept FunnelKit Automations running, leave that part active.
- Verify over a day or two. Roll back via Safe Mode or by reactivating FunnelKit.

In-progress orders
Orders remain in WooCommerce; deactivating FunnelKit does not move them. Asteris Cart reads orders through HPOS-compatible APIs. If FunnelKit stored custom order meta for its automation or reporting, note those keys before deactivating.
